final presentation
Canyon Town was my first digital environment outside of source and features some of my first ever 3-D meshes. I like to keep it around as a waypoint for myself. Even today, I'm pretty impressed with what I managed to create.
The final presentation includes models, particle effects, and audio, all created by me. All of this comes together in Sequencer, which controls the audio cues, animation, and particle effects.
final renders
Above are my final shots of the environment rendered in Unreal Engine 4.
alternate renders
To give a better view of the models, I created an alternate setup depicting the location as a dilapidated desert oasis.
asset library
I constructed my environment out of a small modular kit. At the time, creating a kit where walls were both interior and exterior was an interesting challenge especially considering the strange angles I used to give the structures and unsteady appearance.
No environment is complete without props; they bring the environment to life. I also had a kit with rocks, grass, and trees, but the images and those files were lost in an HDD crash.
